Glazzz is a wine app: you scan bottles and wine lists, react honestly, and we learn your palate so we can recommend wines you'll actually love — and let you share your taste with people who buy wine for you. This page explains exactly what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.

What we collect

Account: your email address and a password (stored hashed by our authentication provider). Until you create an account, you use Glazzz under an anonymous ID.
Wine activity: the wines you scan, the wine lists you photograph, your reactions (loved → nope), and the taste profile ("Taste DNA") we compute from them.
Photos: label and menu photos you take are uploaded so our AI can read them. They are processed to extract wine information and stored in our infrastructure.
Location you tell us: the country/city you choose in the app (used for local availability suggestions). We do not track GPS location.
Feedback: anything you send via the in-app feedback button, including optional screenshots, plus your app version and platform.
Technical basics: app build and platform (web/iOS) attached to activity for debugging.

How we use it

To run Glazzz: build your taste profile, score matches, generate recommendations and pairings.
AI processing: label/menu photos and wine data are processed by Anthropic's Claude models via our secure backend to read labels and generate recommendations. Your photos are not used by us to train AI models.
Sharing you control: if you share your taste, anyone with your link can see your taste card (never your email). You can stop sharing at any time in the app.
Aggregated wine intelligence: we compile anonymized, aggregate statistics about wines — e.g. how often a wine is scanned, how loved it is, typical menu prices, regional taste trends. These aggregates never contain your identity, email, or individual history, and we may use or share them commercially (for example, insights for wine retailers). Your personal data is never sold.
Email you expect: account-related email and, if you're a founding member, occasional product updates. No spam, ever.

Who we work with

Glazzz runs on Supabase (database & authentication, hosted in the EU — Frankfurt), Vercel (web hosting), Anthropic (AI label reading & recommendations), and Resend (feedback email delivery). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

Retention & deletion

Delete your account any time: email glazzzapp@gmail.com from your account email with the subject "Delete my Glazzz account" and we will delete your account, profile, scans, photos, and reactions within 30 days. Already-published anonymized aggregates (which never identify you) are not reversible.

Age

Glazzz is about wine. It is intended for users of legal drinking age in their country (17+ App Store rating). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Your rights (GDPR)

You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data at any time via glazzzapp@gmail.com. If you're in the EU/EEA you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new effective date and flag it in the app.
